Canvas Frequency Capping.

Hello community!

After designing a referral strategy composed of various campaigns and canvases, I’m setting up frequency capping to prevent users from receiving multiple campaigns on the same topic simultaneously.

However, while implementing the frequency capping strategy, I encountered several doubts.

My main objective is that if a user enters a canvas with the referral tag during a week, they should not be able to access any other canvas with that tag.

However, I believe that the current rules do not achieve the desired effect.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to meet this condition?

Thank you very much!

  • Hi Sergitc ! The biggest change we'd recommend is changing the timeframe from 1 day to 1 week. But besides this, did you have any other questions/reasons for doubt about this setup?

    2 other things we'll note:
    1. While a user may still ENTER the Canvas, the message may not send (get aborted) due to the Frequency Capping rule. The exact backend steps, Braze support may be able to explain better, but functionally, your message will not send.

    2. I believe this is a rolling 7 day timeline, not a Mon-Sun weekly schedule.

Let us know any other questions!

      Hello Allan,

      Thanks for your help.

The flows are set up with several push notifications/emails scheduled over multiple days, which is why I wanted to avoid adding frequency capping like the one in the image, in order to prevent messages from the same flow from being aborted.

That’s why I wanted to disable entry into other canvases related to referrals.

(Currently, the canvases are launched by an action trigger, so they can occur at different times.)

I hope I’ve made myself clear.
