Error in Syncing Audience -Google Ads
I encountered an issue with users syncing in the Audience Sync for canvases because the Google account linked to the partner technology was removed in Google ads [deactivated user]. We've since fixed the issue by replacing it with an active Google account, and the sync is now working. Will the previously errored users be re-synced automatically, or is manual intervention required? If yes, how?
Hi username69! I wasn't sure about the answer to this, so I checked in with the team and here's what I found out.
When you resolve issues related to the deactivation of the Google account linked to your Braze Audience Sync, users who previously encountered errors will not be automatically re-synced. You will need to take manual steps to ensure that these users are synced again.
Steps to Manually Re-Sync Users:
- Identify Users with Sync Errors:
- Check the metrics in your Audience Sync step to identify users who were not synced due to the errors. You can look for the "Users Errored" metric to see how many users were affected.
- Create a Segment of Affected Users:
- Use Braze's segmentation tools to create a segment that includes the users who encountered sync errors. You may need to filter based on specific attributes or events that indicate they were part of the Audience Sync process.
- Add a Google Audience Step in Canvas:
- If you haven't already, create or edit a Canvas that includes an Audience Sync step targeting the Google Ads audience you want to update.
- Configure the Audience Sync Step:
- In the Audience Sync step, select the appropriate Google ad account and audience. Choose whether you want to Add to the audience or Remove from the audience based on your needs.
- Launch the Canvas:
- Once the Canvas is configured, launch it. As users enter the Audience Sync step, Braze will attempt to sync them to Google Ads in near real-time.
Considerations:
- Timing: Be aware that it may take between 6 to 12 hours for the audience to sync into Google after launching the Canvas.
- Audience Size: Ensure that your audience meets the minimum size requirements for Google Ads to start serving ads. Google requires at least 5,000 users in an audience for ads to be served.
- Monitoring: After launching the Canvas, monitor the sync metrics to ensure that users are being processed correctly.
By following these steps, you can manually ensure that users who previously encountered sync errors are successfully re-synced to your Google Ads audience.
Let me know if this helps - if it does, please mark as a solution. Thanks and good luck!
